Janis Mazeiks: EU will continue to provide support to the Republic of Moldova

The European Union has offered the Republic of Moldova 840 million euros in the form of grants and loans for various projects from the autumn of last year until now, said the Ambassador of the European Union in Chisinau, Janis Mazeiks, in the show "La 360 de grade" on Radio Moldova.

According to the official, there are around 100 projects implemented in the country, and next year the EU will continue to provide support, especially in the field of justice and the energy sector.

"Last year, when the citizens of the Republic of Moldova received that compensation from the Government, a good part of that compensation, in fact, came from the funds offered by the European Union. The same will happen this winter. We offered 40 million, support for the defense sector of the Republic of Moldova is the so-called non-lethal support. There is no area where the European Union does not provide assistance. A priority for next year, would refer to the justice sector, support in the energy field. The country has achieved quite a lot in terms of improving energy resilience," said Janis Mazeiks.
