Oligarchs could be excluded from the decision-making process in the political, audiovisual and economic fields. Statements by the Minister of Justice

The government must present by the end of this year a deoligarization concept, which will aim to exclude the oligarchs from the decision-making process in the political, audiovisual and economic fields. This statement was made by the Minister of Justice, Sergiu Litvinenco, at the Forum for European Integration of the Republic of Moldova.

"Here's how we make it so that the oligarchs don't matter so much in these processes. Here we have the experience of other states, the experience of Ukraine, which has adopted a law on deoligarization, and we may also go down such a path, even if we do not yet have a final decision. At the same time, we recently had some international sanctions applied by the states that I don't know if we can talk about, because they are not states governed by the rule of law", noted Sergiu Litvinenco. According to him, there is some progress on the high corruption cases, and an argument in this sense are the sanctions imposed by the United States of America and Great Britain on the fugitives Vlad Plahotniuc, Ilan Șor, as well as those affiliated. The Minister of Justice also says that the Republic of Moldova cannot take concrete steps to integrate into the European Union if the justice reform is not carried out, and 6 of the 9 conditionalities that our country must fulfill in order to start the accession process, specifically relate to the reform justice. The official also states that perhaps some things are going more difficult than he would have liked, but we must take into account the fact that an extraordinary external evaluation law cannot be promoted without having a positive response from the Venice Commission.
