According to the official, the purchase of an air defence system would not be available immediately.

"The increase in the defence chapter is welcome. A military budget should be 1-2% percent of the Gross Domestic Product and the most important thing is that this allocation percentage should be for a minimum duration of 5-7 years, so that there are visible changes. If we think that, with the allocation of 0.3%, in addition to the existing 0.3%, radical changes will be made in a short term, it means that we are not drawing due attention to this area. These allocations will be addressed to cover the domains that are critical and will focus on the security assurance compartments such as the air space", said Anatolie Nosatîi.

Radio Moldova recalls that the budget of the Ministry of Defense will be increased by approximately 650 million lei, in accordance with the provisions of the draft State Budget Law for 2023, approved by the Cabinet of Ministers on December 7.
