Ukraine has restored power to about 6 million people

Ukraine has managed to restore power to about 6 million people in the past 24 hours after new Russian bombings that targeted the country's energy infrastructure, the Ukrainian president announced Volodymyr Zelensky, reports Agerpres.

Radio Moldova recalls that on Friday, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal stated that Ukraine needs thousands of powerful electric generators to get through the winter period. Since October, Ukraine has faced increasing blackouts due to attacks by Russian forces on its energy infrastructure, affecting millions of Ukrainian civilians.

Ukrainian operator Ukrenergo estimated after the latest Russian airstrikes that repair time would be longer than after previous attacks and that it would take longer to restore power.
