The number of passengers passing through Chisinau International Airport increased by 20 percent during one week

Between December 19-25, the number of passengers passing through the Chisinau International Airport increased by 20 percent compared to the previous week, Chiril Drozdovschi, the acting deputy head of the Border Police Sector at the Chisinau International Airport, told Radio Moldova .

"During the winter holidays, there is an increase in the flow of passengers by about 20 percent. The most requested countries are: EU member states – France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain. The Border Police is undertaking a number of streamlining measures. There is a daily analysis of the flight schedule and during peak hours we double the number of Border Police employees involved in document control. Also, border lines were created that separate the flow of passengers and separate lines were created for the citizens of the Republic of Moldova," said Drozdovschi. According to the Border Police, on December 25, approximately 55 thousand people crossed the border of the Republic of Moldova, a larger number being recorded upon entering the country - over 36 thousand citizens. The most transited border crossing points remain: Leușeni, Chisinau Airport, Sculeni and Otaci.
