Ministry of Health recommends wearing protective masks in the airport and other closed spaces

The Ministry of Health urges citizens, especially those planning their travels, to wear protective masks, respect distance and hygiene rules when in airports, other closed spaces, as well as in public transport.

Protective measures are recommended, in connection with the increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in China, and considering the increased mobility, the intense movement of the population, during the holidays.

"If you have specific symptoms of COVID-19, contact your family doctor to be tested and treated. We also urge you to immunize yourself, vaccination being the most effective way to protect yourself from infection", the Ministry of Health also recommends. According to the Ministry of Health, last week, 358 cases of COVID-19 were registered in the Republic of Moldova, down by 90 cases compared to the previous week. During the same period, four deaths were recorded. We remind that COVID infections began to rise in China in November and intensified in December after Beijing abandoned its zero-COVID policy, including regular testing of the population and the publication of data on asymptomatic cases. Meanwhile, UK-based healthcare company Airfinity said around 9,000 people were dying from COVID-19 in China every day, double last week's estimate. Several countries including Israel, the United States, Japan, Spain, Italy, South Korea have introduced COVID-19 testing of travelers arriving from China. At the same time, the European Union Health Agency stated, on Thursday, that the introduction of such screenings in the EU is "unjustified", indicating "higher population immunity", but also the fact that the variants in China appeared previously and were replaced.
