Estonia allocates almost one million euros for the dismantling of Soviet monuments

Estonia has allocated over 900,000 euros from the state budget for the dismantling and relocation of Soviet monuments, Estonian media informs. According to sources, the initiative to remove propaganda objects left by the Soviet regime led to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The government's press attache, Jevgenia Vara, said that the Ministry of Defense allocated 916,405 euros for the demolition and relocation of Soviet monuments.

Two weeks ago, an additional amount of about 60,000 euros was allocated to a working group set up by the government for the dismantling work.

According to estimates, 244 of the 322 registered objectives are to be dismantled.
