Ukraine received more than 32 billion dollars in aid and loans in 2022

Ukraine has received more than $32 billion in foreign aid and loans over the past year since the Russian invasion at the end of February, dpa reported on Saturday.

About 40% of this amount came from the US, the Ukrainian Central Bank said. Just under 25% came from the EU, and about 8% from the International Monetary Fund. Germany alone contributed $1.6 billion, according to the statement. The total aid is equivalent to about 16% of Ukraine's pre-war economic output. However, Ukraine's gross domestic product dropped by more than 30% in 2022 due to the war, according to estimates by the Ministry of Economy in Kyiv. Russia has occupied about 18 percent of Ukrainian territory, including the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was annexed in 2014. With the start of the war, Ukraine became largely dependent on foreign aid, both financial and military, dpa reports.
