The head of the Kiev Cabinet urged the United States to pass a multi-billion-dollar bill in Congress to strengthen Ukraine's defence, stating that this funding is urgently needed to assist his country in defending itself.

The proposed aid package includes $61 billion, of which approximately $23.2 billion would be allocated to replenish American military stocks and infrastructure. Additionally, the bill includes funds for Israel and the Indo-Pacific region.

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on the bill on Saturday.

Shmyhal informed the BBC in Washington that "the global security system will be destroyed" if Ukraine is defeated, cautioning that this could lead to "further conflicts" and ultimately to a Third World War.

American President Joe Biden stated that he will promptly sign the legislative package upon its adoption by Congress, emphasising that it will convey a message to the world that the United States "stand with our friends."
