Soldiers of the National Army will participate in the "Swift Response-2024" exercise
The soldiers of the National Army will participate in the "Swift Response-2024" exercise, between May 9-16. The exercise will take place on the territory of our country and will be led by the United States Army Europe and Africa.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the trening aims to develop the capabilities and to increase the level of interoperability between the participating soldiers, as well as the implementation of modern techniques, methods and procedures of individual and collective military training.
Over 400 soldiers from the "Moldova" Motorized Infantry Brigade, the "Fulger" Special Purpose Battalion of the National Army and soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division from the US will participate in the exercise.
The Ministry of Defense informs that the training will involve technical units from the National Army, as well as two C-130 Hercules military aircraft, from the US command in Europe and Africa.
According to the plan, they will perform parachute jumps in the perimeter of the towns in Florești, Fălești and Bălți districts. At the same time, combat firing from the light infantry weapons will be performed at the Training Center of the Bălți municipality. "Swift Response" is part of the "Defender Europe 24" multinational exercise and is intended for the Moldovan-American special forces. The National Army is participating in the "Defender Europe" exercises starting in 2021.
The "Swift Response-2024" exercise takes place in accordance with the Training Plan of the National Army for the current year.
