Transport Accidents and Incidents Investigation Bureau will be established in the Republic of Moldova
The Transport Accidents and Incidents Investigation Bureau will be established in the Republic of Moldova, according to a decision approved by the Government. The purpose of this office is to increase safety in transport and to prevent accidents and incidents, says the General Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Lilia Dabija.

"The project provides for the approval of the organizational structure of the Office with a limited number of 17 staff units. Currently, in the Republic of Moldova, there are no independent capacities to investigate transport events from a safety point of view, which would aim to prevent them. As a rule, the criminal investigation body participates in the investigation of an event with the generation of damage, which has the exclusive mission of establishing the culprit of the occurrence of this event, but not to come up with recommendations regarding the avoidance of such events in the future", said Lilia Dabija .
The office will be a central administrative authority, subordinate to the Government, and its activity will be financed from the state budget within the budget allocations approved by the annual budget law.
