How does the process of evaluating the integrity of candidates for the position of member of the CSM proceed? The response of the Minister of Justice

The process of evaluating the integrity and professionalism of the candidates for the position of member of the Superior Council of the Magistracy (CSM) is proceeding more slowly than the authorities anticipated, the Minister of Justice, Sergiu Litvinenco, told a TVR broadcast.

According to the official, the members of the pre-vetting commission opt for the correctness of the process, not for speed, and that is why the new SCM composition will be approved only in March, IPN reports.

As the minister stated, at the end of March - the beginning of April, there will be a new Superior Council of the Magistracy. Also, the new composition of the Superior Council of Prosecutors will be established in June.

The pre-vetting commission, which examines the professionalism and integrity of the candidates for the position of CSM and CSP member, is created from 3 members appointed by the parliamentary factions and 3 members delegated by the development partners of the Republic of Moldova.
