61 entrepreneurs in the Republic of Moldova benefited from grants totaling over 40 million lei
61 entrepreneurs from various fields have today benefited from grants totaling over 40 million lei. The funding is non-refundable and is provided by the Government, the European Union and the World Bank through various programs. The entrepreneurs come from several sectors, such as agriculture or construction.

Grant recipients say they will use the resources to streamline and grow their businesses. Many of them said they would purchase new equipment.
"We are a pharmaceutical company and we will use this aid, we are already using it in the re-equipment of the new factory that we built in Comrat and are procuring, now the orders have already been placed, two production machines, one for solid pharmaceutical forms, capsules and the second for liquid forms, solutions, syrups for internal use".
"In our company we deal with agriculture, we grow vegetables, grapes, we have a cold storage and we have a pumping station and we will use this aid for photovoltaic panels that will cover part or maybe almost all of our energy consumption".
"We, as entrepreneurs, are making efforts with your support to create jobs, to become more prosperous."
These grants are intended to boost local businesses and economic growth, declared the Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization, Dumitru Alaiba. The official stressed the importance of supporting the business environment in the country.
“These 60 entrepreneurs, are investing almost 100 million lei in our economy. And that’s not a small amount of money. We are holding these events and we will continue to hold them to celebrate you first and foremost. Namely, entrepreneurs, business people are the hope of this country because we see this in the numbers. Despite everything, throughout 2024, you continue to invest,” says Dumitru Alaiba.
The grants were awarded through several programs of the Entrepreneurship Development Organisation, designed to respond to the various needs of entrepreneurs. A high number of companies accessed financing through the re-engineering and energy efficiency program, demonstrating the private sector’s commitment to sustainable practices and the modernization of production processes, said ODA Director Vadim Codreanu.
“Efforts are being made. And these efforts we feel every day, I feel them on the one hand because you submit applications and insist on support, on obtaining support from the institution. I remind you that we are the ones who implement. The support is offered by the Government and development partners. This is why, we try to help you within the limits of the governance system. There are situations when you are refused and encouraged to apply again or to apply to another program for which we consider you eligible," said Vadim Codreanu.
We remind you that, last year, through the Entrepreneurship Development Organization, grants worth over 250 million lei were awarded, from which about 600 companies benefited.
