Parliament Speaker on an official visit to Greece. He will have several meetings

Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu, is paying an official visit to Greece, from June 1 to 4, at the invitation of his Greek counterpart.
Igor Grosu is scheduled to meet with the leadership of the Parliament in Athens, including the President of the Parliament, Nikitas Michail Kaklamanis, and the First Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament, Ioannis Plakiotakis, who is also the President of the European Affairs Committee. During his visit, Grosu will engage in discussions with Vasileios Giogiakas, the President of the Greece-Moldova Friendship Group, along with other group members.
Traditionally, the Parliament Speaker also meets with representatives of the Moldovan diaspora. As stated in a press release from the Parliament, members of the Moldovan community living, studying, or working in Greece will have the opportunity to discuss various issues with Igor Grosu on Sunday evening.
Grosu will be accompanied on his visit to Athens by Larisa Novac, a member of Parliament and the President of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with the Hellenic Republic.
It is important to note that the Parliament of the Hellenic Republic leads the Twinning Project from which the Parliament in Chișinău will benefit during the period from 2025 to 2027. The Twinning Project, titled “Strengthening the Capacities of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova and Its Role in the EU Accession Process,” has a budget of 1.4 million euros. It is funded by the European Union and implemented through a consortium of partners led by the Parliament of Greece, in collaboration with the Parliaments of Romania, Italy, Hungary, and Austria. The primary objective of this Twinning Project is to support the Republic of Moldova's accession to the European Union, specifically by ensuring an efficient, transparent, and participatory legislative process in line with the harmonization of Moldova’s legislation with the EU acquis, and by strengthening the Parliament's oversight capabilities.
