The Kremlin will not accept the oil price cap

Russia will not accept the price cap for Russian oil and is considering a response, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, quoted by RIA Novosti. For his part, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, added that Moscow will work only with those who are ready to cooperate under market conditions.

TRM.MD recalls that the G7 countries, together with Australia, agreed on Friday to cap the price of Russian oil at $60 per barrel, following the agreement reached earlier by the European Union member countries. The purpose of this capping is to diminish Moscow's income and ability to finance Russia's war against Ukraine.
