22-year-old woman from Chisinau, victim of blackmail. Three men detained

A 22-year-old woman from the Republic of Moldova was threatened and forced to hand over her car. The threats came from a man she communicated with on social media.
According to the Police, the individual was part of a group specialized in blackmail, consisting of two Romanian citizens and a citizen of the Republic of Moldova.
The young woman decided to break off contact with him at the beginning of October this year, at which time the man began to threaten her with physical violence and the spread of defamatory information about her, informs the General Inspectorate of Police (IGP).
On the day the three suspects went to the victim's home in the Buiucani sector of Chisinau to take over the car and transport it to Romania, they were detained with the support of masked men from the "Fulger" Brigade.
Two of the suspects were placed in preventive detention for 30 days, and the third – under house arrest – is being investigated for blackmail.
The suspects face between five and seven years in prison, as well as fines ranging from 42,500 to 67,500 lei.
