Parties that gained more mayors after the November 16 local elections

On Sunday, November 16, residents of six villages and towns held elections for their mayors, and some also elected local councils. Two villages will be led by mayors from the Party of Socialists (PSRM), while two other localities will have independent mayors. One village will elect a mayor from the League of Cities and Communes (LOC), and another village will be led by a mayor from the Party for the Development and Consolidation of Moldova (PDCM).
Preliminary data from the Central Electoral Commission indicates that PSRM representatives achieved a significant victory in the first round in the Natalievca commune of Fălești district and the Cremenciug commune of Soroca district.

The village of Bașcalia in Basarabeasca and the commune of Călinești in Fălești district will be led by independent mayors:

In the village of Ustia, in the Glodeni district, the PDCM representative won with 82.52% of the vote. Meanwhile, in the city of Leova, the LOC representative secured victory with 77.91%. Both candidates defeated their opponents from the Action and Solidarity Party.

The city of Leova and the commune of Călinești in the district of Fălești have elected their local councils as part of the voluntary amalgamation process. As a result, Leova will be formed into a single administrative unit that includes the villages of Sârma, Tochile-Răducani, and Sărata-Răzeși. Additionally, the commune of Călinești will be consolidated by incorporating the commune of Chetriș and the village of Hâncești.
According to preliminary data from the Central Electoral Commission, 8,836 voters, or 39.06%, participated in the recent local elections across the six localities. The registered voter turnout at the polling stations was as follows:
Ustia village, Glodeni district – 701 voters (53.72%);
Natalievca commune, Fălești district – 649 voters (44.48%);
Cremenciug commune, Soroca district – 337 voters (52.74%);
Bașcalia village, Basarabeasca district – 725 voters (25.73%);
Călinești commune, Fălești district – 1,635 voters (41.24%);
Leova city, Leova district – 4,789 voters (38.5%).
