8 new MPs join Moldova Parliament after resignations

The Constitutional Court (CC) on Monday, November 24, validated the mandates of eight new members of Parliament (MPs) who will complete the legislature's composition following resignations recorded in recent weeks.
Five of the new MPs come from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), two represent Our Party (PN), and one comes from the "Alternativa" Electoral Bloc, whose representatives did not attend the session.
"The following are declared elected as members of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, with the validation of their mandates: Ms. Ana Oglinda and Ms. Efimia Bandalac, Mr. Vladimir Rusu, Mr. Vasile Porțevschi, and Mr. Oleg Canațui, substitute candidates on the Action and Solidarity Party list; Mr. Constantin Cuiumju and Mr. Nicolae Margarint, substitute candidates on Our Party's list; and Ms. Angela Cutasevici, a substitute candidate on the 'Alternativa' Electoral Bloc list," stated the President of the Constitutional Court, Domnica Manole.
The Court's ruling is final, cannot be contested, and enters into force on the date of its adoption.
Of the five new members of the PAS faction, four have previously served as MPs in the preceding legislature, while Vladimir Rusu previously held the position of head of the Bălți territorial office of the State Chancellery. These five substitutes replace Maria Agbaș, Roman Cojuhari, Nicolae Drăgănel, Viorel Bostan, and Constantin Cheianu.
Our Party will have two new MPs: Constantin Cuiumju, an engineer and lawyer, and Nicolae Margarint, a political scientist and lawyer. They enter the legislature following the resignations of Nina Cereteu and Stela Onuțu, who are returning to mayoral offices. Before the validation, the first substitutes on the list, Alexandr Severin, Mayor of Fălești, and lawyer Rodica Țîpovici, declined the mandate, leading the CEC (Central Electoral Commission) to move to the next eligible candidates.
The "Alternativa" Electoral Bloc will continue to be represented by Angela Cutasevici, whose mandate was confirmed in place of Ion Ceban. The bloc's representatives did not participate in the Constitutional Court session.
Since the beginning of the current legislature, inaugurated on October 22, a total of 16 MPs have relinquished their mandates, with most departures coming from the PAS faction. Some of them have moved to the Munteanu Government or other public offices, while others, such as Dorin Recean and Artur Mija, have withdrawn from politics.
