AIPA disburses 103 million lei in direct payments to support milk producers

Owners of cows, sheep, and goats will receive over 103 million lei in support from the state. This funding has been approved by the Agricultural Intervention and Payments Agency (AIPA) following the submission of 223 applications under the sixth round of direct payments for the livestock sector, of which 221 were accepted.
The majority of the applications submitted were for cow's milk, totaling 195 applications. Additionally, nine applications were submitted for sheep's milk, ten for goat's milk, and in seven instances, farmers requested support for both types of milk.
In this call for applications, AIPA authorized payments totaling 103 million 270 thousand lei, which will go directly to farmers for the production they delivered.
Financial support was provided for over 33 thousand tons of cow's milk, approximately 338 tons of sheep's milk, and around 487 tons of goat's milk.
According to AIPA, this data covers a six-month period and reflects the developments in the livestock sector.
Comparing the first half of 2024 to the first half of 2025, bovine milk production increased from 27.2 thousand tons to 33 thousand tons, representing a 21% growth.
