ODA–GIZ investments of €1.85 million will support energy-efficient technologies in at least 24 enterprises

Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Republic of Moldova will receive €1.85 million in non-repayable funding for technological modernization. This support is part of a Grant Agreement between the Organization for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) and the German International Cooperation Agency (GIZ).
The parliamentary committee on foreign policy approved the document during its meeting on December 23.
The grant is designed to co-finance investments by at least 24 companies in energy-efficient technologies. The funds will be used to purchase equipment, modernize or replace existing technologies, and implement renewable energy solutions.
“The aim is to reduce emissions and optimize resource consumption, generating measurable environmental benefits in the long term,” states a press release from the Parliament.
The grant agreement between ODA and GIZ will be submitted for ratification in the plenary session of the Legislature, with funding expected to be granted by September 2026.
Since the beginning of 2025, over 800 companies have benefited from grants awarded through ODA, totaling approximately 350 million lei. Of these beneficiaries, 500 companies received funding from the state budget, while the remainder received support from the European Union, the World Bank, and other programs.
Additionally, over 50 entrepreneurs received grants totaling 18.4 million lei through the Small Producers Support Program, with the figure expected to reach 200 by 2027.
