Snowfall affects air traffic: Flights canceled and delays at Chisinau airport

Flight cancellations and delays were reported on Wednesday, February 18, due to adverse weather conditions affecting both the Republic of Moldova and neighboring countries. The administration of "Eugen Doga" Chisinau International Airport announced changes to the flight schedule for arrivals and departures in Chisinau because of snowfall and severe weather warnings.
According to the airport authorities, two flights have been cancelled: the flight to Bucharest due to adverse weather conditions in the Romanian capital, and the flight to Istanbul, which was cancelled by the airline in response to a weather warning issued for the Republic of Moldova.
Additionally, two flights are currently delayed: the flight to Bucharest is delayed due to weather, and the flight to Berlin is delayed due to the aircraft's late arrival.
The airport administration emphasizes that operations are proceeding safely.
"Despite heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions at Chisinau airport, all snow removal equipment is mobilized and functioning continuously. The airport is adhering to procedures to maintain clean and safe conditions on the runway", the authorities stated.
Access to and from the airport remains in good condition, with access roads being regularly cleared.
Passengers are encouraged to check the flight status with their airline or visit the airport website before heading to the airport.
