Premier Energy: No personal data requested by phone – stay alert

Moldova’s largest electricity provider warns citizens about a scam using its name, urging people not to give personal data under the pretext of meter changes.
Unknown individuals are contacting consumers, claiming to represent Premier Energy Distribution, and requesting personal information under the pretext of meter replacement.
The company emphasizes that it does not request ID data by phone, and meter replacements are carried out on a scheduled basis without asking for personal information.
Premier Energy warns that scammers use convincing tactics: they claim to be replacing meters, ask for names, addresses, and ID details, and threaten to disconnect electricity if the information is refused.
The company advises citizens not to provide personal data, to verify information through official sources, and to report any fraud attempts to the police immediately.
“For reports or issues related to the electricity network, contact our 24/7 service at 022 43 11 11 or the number listed on your bill,” Premier Energy stated.
