Parliamentary delegations from seven EU states in Chișinău back faster EU integration

Representatives from the European Affairs Committees of the parliaments of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Germany are on a joint visit to the Republic of Moldova from March 29 to 31.
The delegation will meet at the Parliament on Monday, March 30, including discussions with the Parliament Speaker, Igor Grosu. A joint meeting with members of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration is also scheduled.
The agenda for the visit includes discussions with the Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mihai Popșoi.
European officials will also meet with students from the State University of Moldova.
According to the Parliament, the discussions will focus on the Republic of Moldova's European path, evaluating progress in the accession process, and identifying priorities for the upcoming period.
"The joint visit of representatives from the parliaments of European Union member states reconfirms political support for the Republic of Moldova's European path and contributes to strengthening parliamentary dialogue in the accession process," states the press release from the Parliament.
The officials will also analyze the necessary forms of support to accelerate reforms and meet the criteria for European Union accession.
This visit is taking place at the invitation of Marcel Spatari, the chairman of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration.
