Silvia Bondarenco joins the PAS faction in Parliament

Silvia Bondarenco, a mathematics and physics teacher, is set to join Parliament. The Constitutional Court confirmed her position as a deputy in the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) faction.

On April 3, the Central Electoral Commission requested the validation of the mandate for an alternate candidate from the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) list. This vacancy occurred after Nicolae Botgros resigned from the same party's list.

Silvia Bondarenco, born in 1967 in the village of Zăicani, Râșcani district, graduated from the Pedagogical University of Tiraspol. She currently serves as the head of a subdivision at the Public Services Agency. Previously, she was the deputy director of the "Mihail Berezovschi" Theoretical Lyceum with an arts focus in Chișinău and spent nearly thirty years as a mathematics and physics teacher at the same institution.

The Action and Solidarity Party holds 55 of the 101 seats in Parliament. Nicolae Botgros, aged 72, resigned his mandate to dedicate more time to his artistic pursuits. Parliament acknowledged his resignation in a meeting on March 26.

Conductor Botgros is the 14th PAS deputy to step down during the current legislature. Notably, several deputies elected from the party's list have resigned to take on other roles in the government, public institutions, or to return to their previous professions. Recently, fighter Anastasia Nichita also resigned from her deputy mandate, which was subsequently taken over by Tatiana Rotari.

By the end of November 2025, PAS alternate candidates Ana Oglinda, Efimia Bandalac, Vladimir Rusu, Vasile Porțevschi, and Oleg Canațui will gain access to the Legislative. They will replace Maria Agbaș, Roman Cojuhari, Nicolae Drăgănel, Viorel Bostan, and Constantin Cheianu.
