Quick access to patient data. Moldova will launch an electronic health record

Moldova will implement the “Electronic Health Record” system (DES) to enable controlled access to medical data, support clinical and administrative decisions, and increase health system efficiency.
On April 10, the Ministry of Health held the first round of public consultations with specialists from public institutions, international organizations, and healthcare providers.
Participants discussed key challenges from fragmented health information systems and registries and stressed the need for an integrated, interoperable, and secure system.
They reviewed the proposed legal framework, identified infrastructure and technical needs, ensured system interoperability, and clarified institutional roles and implementation mechanisms.
The Ministry aims to build a safe, integrated, patient centered digital ecosystem that meets European standards and real system needs.
Consultations will continue and remain open to all stakeholders involved in the digital transformation of healthcare.
The Government approved the National Program for Digitalization and Innovation in Health 2025 to 2030 on September 3 last year.
