Criminal investigation launched after tiger escapes arena during Rostov-on-Don performance

A tiger escaped the main arena and entered the spectator zone during a circus performance in Rostov-on-Don. The incident occurred after the safety netting surrounding the ring collapsed, according to reports from Meduza Live.

As the predator roamed through the seating area, staff used the public address system to urge the audience to remain calm. Trainers eventually managed to drive the animal back and secure it in a transport container.

No spectators or circus employees were injured during the breach. The event took place at the Dovgalyuk Dynasty Circus, a touring troupe temporarily located at the DonExpoCenter exhibition complex.

Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case regarding the incident. The probe focuses on the provision of services that fail to meet established safety requirements.
