European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas will visit Chișinău on May 7–8

European Commission Vice President Kaja Kallas will pay an official visit to Moldova from May 7 to 8. She will hold several meetings in Chișinău, including with the country’s leadership.
On the first day, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy will meet Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi. Talks will focus on security and defense.
On May 8, Kaja Kallas will meet President Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu, and other senior officials. A joint press conference with the president is scheduled for 10:25.
Her agenda also includes meetings with civil society representatives and participation in the EuroQuiz Moldova 2026 competition.
Kaja Kallas made her first official visit to Moldova after taking office in April 2025. During that visit, she announced an additional €60 million in EU support to strengthen the country’s resilience against external threats.
