Math labs and classrooms renovated in nine model schools nationwide

Nine model schools across the country now benefit from 38 renovated mathematics laboratories and classrooms, providing approximately 7,000 students with an enhanced learning experience.

With support from the European Union and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), these spaces were transformed into modern and flexible environments. Here, lessons extend beyond theoretical knowledge. Students have the opportunity to experiment, test, observe, and gain a better understanding of the world around them.

Each laboratory is equipped with microscopes and various laboratory instruments, wireless sensors for measuring temperature, light, and pressure, document cameras for interactive demonstrations, and robotics kits, including Arduino and Ozobot.

The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) has announced that their transformation efforts will continue. At the "Ion Creangă" Theoretical Lyceum in Fălești, which has approximately 640 students enrolled, plans are in place to renovate three additional laboratories and a mathematics classroom.

The Model Schools Network is a strategic program initiated by the MEC to turn selected schools into exemplary models of good practice. This initiative focuses on both improving infrastructure and implementing modern teaching methods.

The program has received support from various organizations, including the World Bank, the European Union, the Government of Poland, UNDP, UNICEF, and private companies.
