Over 1,500 people used anti-heat relief points

A heat wave has struck the Republic of Moldova, leading to tragic consequences. In the past 24 hours, more than 1,500 individuals have required medical and emergency assistance after visiting anti-heat rehabilitation centers established by rescuers in various districts across the country.
According to data from the General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU), a total of 1,518 people received assistance due to the extreme heat, with the highest number of requests coming from Chisinau, where 1,120 individuals sought help at the anti-heat tents.
In the capital, rehabilitation points are available in all five sectors: on Hâncești Road in the Centru sector, at 2 Mircea cel Bătrân Boulevard in the Ciocana sector, at 5 Calea Ieșilor Street in the Buiucani sector, at 13/1 Miron Costin Street in the Râșcani sector, and at 21/1 Dacia Boulevard in the Botanica sector.
Additionally, these points were set up in the districts of Cahul, Ialoveni, Cantemir, Căușeni, Ștefan Vodă, Hâncești, and Cimișlia, as well as in the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia. This initiative comes in response to meteorologists issuing Yellow, Orange, and Red alerts for a heatwave.
The warning is in effect until July 1st.

Rescuers are urging people to use rehabilitation points if they experience high-temperature-related symptoms, such as dehydration or feeling unwell. Citizens can receive drinking water and temporary shelter from the heat. In emergencies, authorities recommend calling 112.
