Vasile Tofan set to present Moldova's new government on Friday

Prime Minister-designate Vasile Tofan may officially present his new cabinet on Friday, July 17, following the resignation of former Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu earlier this month.
Acting Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Bolea confirmed that final decisions regarding the government's lineup will be made in the coming days, with a decisive meeting scheduled for July 17.
Bolea refrained from explicitly confirming whether he would retain his position in the new administration, noting that consultations with the candidate are still ongoing.
"I met with the Prime Minister-designate yesterday at 4:45 PM," Bolea stated at the Government building on Tuesday, July 14. "A final decision will be reached when we meet again on Friday."
Tofan has already held preliminary talks with Acting Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu, key acting deputy prime ministers, and outgoing heads of the finance and education ministries.
Throughout this week, the entrepreneur-turned-politician is conducting consultations with industry associations, civil society representatives, and parliamentary factions to draft his governance program.
Designated on July 11 by President Maia Sandu upon the nomination of the majority Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Tofan indicated his intention to inject fresh technical talent into the executive branch.
"I intend to bring new faces into the broader executive team," Tofan previously affirmed, emphasizing that upcoming talks will shape the final structure of his administration.
Under the Moldovan Constitution, the Prime Minister-designate has 15 days from his official nomination to request a vote of confidence from Parliament on his program and full cabinet lineup.
The current political transition follows the collapse of the previous government on July 3, triggered by Alexandru Munteanu's resignation. Acting Deputy Prime Minister Eugeniu Osmochescu currently leads the interim administration.
