ASP registers nearly 2,500 businesses from Transnistrian region
As of the end of the first semester of 2026, the number of economic agents registered with the Public Services Agency (ASP) in the Transnistrian region is nearing 2,500. Specifically, there are 2,492 companies listed in the agency's records, including 461 permanently registered and 2,031 provisionally registered.
The Reintegration Policy Office reports that, between January 1 and June 30, 2026, nine economic agents in the Transnistrian region obtained permanent registration, while another 17 were granted provisional registration.
The authorities emphasize that inclusion in the legal framework of the Republic of Moldova provides these enterprises with a more stable and predictable business environment. Additionally, they gain access to public institutions' services on the same terms as economic agents in the rest of the country and have the opportunity to participate in the Republic of Moldova's commercial activities.
A significant advantage is access to the European Union market, which opens up opportunities for business expansion, attracts investment, and supports long-term development.
As of December 31, 2025, the number of economic agents registered with the National Agency for Public Services (ASP) increased from 2,478 to 2,492.
"This development confirms the ongoing dynamics of the country's economic reintegration process and demonstrates a pragmatic approach to the business environment in the Transnistrian region," stated a press release from the Reintegration Policy Bureau.
The authorities in Chisinau started a process aimed at gradually standardizing the fiscal and customs regulations applied to economic agents in the Transnistrian region. According to the plan, the current fiscal benefits will be phased out by 2030 to ensure that enterprises on both sides of the Nistru operate under the same conditions.
The initial measures will focus on gradually increasing taxes on non-essential products, such as alcohol and tobacco, with the process later expanding to other categories of goods.
