Finance Minister Andrian Gavriliță receives new appointment
Andrian Gavriliță, the former Minister of Finance in the Munteanu Government, continues to work in the Executive despite no longer being part of the Tofan Cabinet.
After the inauguration of the new government, Gavriliță was appointed as a senior advisor in the Cabinet of Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, which is led by Carolina Bogatiuc, according to information published on the government's website.
Andrian Gavriliță was one of four ministers from the Munteanu Government who were replaced in the new Executive led by Vasile Tofan. The Ministry of Finance is now headed by Victoria Belous, who has returned to this position after previously serving in the Recean Government.
Upon leaving her role as Minister of Finance—a position she held for eight months—Gavriliță acknowledged her efforts to promote "one of the most difficult reforms," specifically in fiscal policy, amid a challenging governance context.
Gavriliță faced significant criticism for her fiscal reform project, which aimed to standardize VAT rates and modify salary contributions to address the budget deficit and support salary increases. The proposed measures were controversial because they risked triggering a chain reaction of price increases by introducing VAT on essential items such as medicines, energy, and food, ultimately impacting citizens' purchasing power.
Consequently, Gavriliță expressed her disappointment with the current state of information in the Republic of Moldova, criticizing the spread of false information and the lack of accountability among some media representatives and public commentators.
"The oath I took to the Republic of Moldova remains valid, and I will continue to help my country, regardless of the role I find myself in," Andrian Gavriliță stated at the time.

According to the new Minister of Finance, Victoria Belous, the fiscal-budgetary reform proposed by the Munteanu Government, which faced heavy criticism, will not be abandoned but will instead be rewritten and subjected to public consultations once again.
