New PAS MP Victor Mătrăgună awaits Constitutional Court validation

On August 4, the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) proposed to the Constitutional Court the validation of Victor Mătrăgună's deputy mandate. Mătrăgună is an alternate candidate on the list of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) and will replace Victoria Belous in the Legislative Assembly. Belous has taken on the role of Minister of Finance for the second time.

"The procedure to request information from the relevant authorities has been initiated to determine whether the alternate candidate meets the requirements for the position and is not prohibited from holding it. The Central Election Commission (CEC) proposes that the Constitutional Court declare Victor Mătrăgună, the alternate candidate from the Action and Solidarity Party, duly elected and validate his mandate as a deputy in the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova."

Victor Mătrăgună is a lawyer and serves as the head of the Orhei Territorial Office of the State Chancellery.

According to his 2025 wealth declaration, the civil servant reported a total gross salary of 288,018 lei, along with a foreign pension of 16,101 euros.

He has declared ownership of 41 plots of land, although he is the effective beneficiary of only two of them.

Additionally, Mătrăgună reported owning an apartment with an area of 48 square meters, which he acquired in 2024, valued at 1.34 million lei.

He also owns a trailer manufactured in 1983, valued at 5,000 lei, and a 2007 Seat Leon car worth 16,500 euros.

Moreover, Victor Mătrăgună holds a 100% stake in a limited liability company (SRL) that specializes in retail trade, which is a family business.

In terms of liabilities, the future parliamentarian listed two loans: one taken out in the Republic of Moldova for 350,000 lei and another from abroad for 128,000 euros.
