Champions and amateurs at the sports festival in Nisporeni
On Sunday, the town of Nisporeni served as the Capital of Sports and Friendship for a day. Children, along with their parents and grandparents, took part in a two-kilometre marathon. The participants showcased their energy, skill, and determination to succeed, creating an atmosphere filled with emotions and cheer.
The Caragia family traveled from Greece to their home in Nisporeni for a brief vacation. They took advantage of their visit by participating in the local festival's marathon.
“We came to take part in this marathon to pass ir to the new generation. As one of the ancient philosophers said, ‘A sound mind in a sound body,’” shared Vasile Caragia.
“I ran two kilometers in the marathon, and I’m very tired, but I hope to continue participating in competitions and even win,” said Dariu Caragia.
The Marian family also took part in the marathon.
“We want to practice sports, promote an active lifestyle, and enjoy a beautiful day together. I hope to do this regularly and engage in sports more often,” says Rodica Marian.
“We came to build muscle and get stronger. Do you like running?” asks Daniel Marian. “Yes,” he replies. “Why do you like it?” “Because I want to be faster,” Daniel responds.
The festival also featured members from the Taekwondo Academy in Nisporeni. Although they practice sports at a professional level, they joined the event to connect with other exercise enthusiasts.
"We have athletes from the academy, including national, international, and world champions, as well as Europeans. We are all here to support this wonderful event," said Anton Rață, a representative of the Taekwondo Academy in Nisporeni.
"We are participating in the entire event, taking part in all the competitions, and will also have a demonstration program. Additionally, we are hosting masterclasses. It is important to engage in sports, as it represents life, and sports pave the way for the future", said Daniel Grecu, a taekwondo instructor.
In 2025, the city of Călărași was designated the Sports Capital of the Republic of Moldova.
