TRM seeks to enhance cooperation with Denmark, focusing on technical modernization and media content exchange

The "Teleradio-Moldova" (TRM) company could gain access to Danish films, series, documentaries, and music programs, and benefit from professional exchanges with Danish media experts. Opportunities for collaboration, along with support for the technical modernization of the public broadcaster, were discussed on Wednesday, October 21, during a meeting between the TRM leadership and the Ambassador of Denmark to the Republic of Moldova, Søren Jensen.
The discussions focused on strengthening the public institution’s technological capabilities and on joint efforts to combat disinformation. The meeting addressed the need to identify funding for procuring high-performance technical equipment—including high-capacity servers—which is essential given cybersecurity challenges.
This assistance is crucial for the digitalization of workflows, the securing of archives, and the improvement of broadcast quality, stated Ecaterina Cheptanaru, Director General of the "Teleradio-Moldova" Company. The interim Deputy Directors General responsible for television and radio, Tatiana Vlas and Veaceslav Gheorghișenco, also highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships in the context of current information-related challenges.

The diplomatic mission expressed its openness to providing the public broadcaster with Danish content, including series, films, documentaries, and music programs. Ambassador Søren Jensen noted that Denmark already supports the development of independent media, professional journalism, and freedom of information—initiatives that could also benefit TRM. Furthermore, the diplomat highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise between media professionals from Denmark and the Republic of Moldova.
The leadership of TRM expressed gratitude for the consistent support provided by Denmark throughout the institutional transformation process and reaffirmed their commitment to remaining a credible and objective source of information for the public.
We remind you that the Kingdom of Denmark supports the media sector in the Republic of Moldova by funding media development projects, promoting freedom of expression, and fostering strategic partnerships. This assistance is provided both through the Embassy of Denmark in Chișinău—which opened in 2024—and through specialized international organizations. Denmark invests directly in democratic resilience and the strengthening of public institutions, viewing a free press as a fundamental pillar.
