Leova plans tourist attraction after historic cellar find

A historic cellar was uncovered in Leova during sidewalk reconstruction works, and local authorities plan to preserve its entrance and develop the site as a tourist attraction.
Historic entrance to be preserved
To allow sidewalk renovation works to continue, workers will lay the paving over a temporary concrete slab, preserving access to the historic cellar.
The local authorities plan to develop the site as a tourist attraction after consulting the National Archaeological Agency, Mayor Alexandru Bujorean said in a social media post.
“Another historic cellar has been discovered in Leova during sidewalk reconstruction works. This entrance will be preserved (...), and following consultations with the National Archaeological Agency, this location will become a new tourist attraction for the town,” Bujorean wrote.
The mayor ended his post with the words: “History is making its way through. Beautiful!”
