Color, taste and tradition - "Golden Autumn" Festival in Călărași

In Călărași, the harvest season transformed into a true celebration as the city hosted the traditional "Golden Autumn" festival. Mayors from the district, along with folk craftsmen and local producers, showcased their finest products from the year. The event brought together residents and visitors from various countries.

Visitors are welcomed with the symbols of Moldovan hospitality: bread and salt, a jug of wine, and this year's rich harvest. The hosts have arranged sumptuous tables filled with traditional dishes that evoke the scents of autumn, all enhanced by a cultural and artistic program, reports Alexandru Statnîi, a reporter for Moldova 1 TV.
"We greeted our guests with skewers, white wine, and red wine. The atmosphere here is extraordinary, especially since we have a wedding celebration. Our groom is a double European champion," said Constantin Cobîlean, an emeritus coach from Călărași.
"Through this celebration, we engage the community so that everyone can contribute to preparing the dishes. They have baked rolls, bread, biscuits, pies, stuffed cabbage, and steak," said Maria David, the mayor of Răciula commune.

The famous Hoginești jugs were a highlight of the event.
“The people of Hoginești have been known for their pottery since ancient times. Today, we have Vasile Goncear who brings us fame,” emphasized Constantin Postaru, the mayor of Hoginești village.
Local producers showcased their natural products at the festival.
“We have lavender flowers in bags that can be placed in cabinets for a pleasant scent, helping to freshen the air.”
“We also offer various beekeeping products, as well as candles made from natural wax without any mixtures or additives.”

The visitors expressed their pleasant surprise.
"We were abroad for a while and upon our return, we were pleasantly surprised by what is happening in Moldova."
"We want to see the autumn crops, as it is the most beautiful season of the year. We are here with our child, creating beautiful memories through pictures."
"We have guests from the cities and district councils with which we are twinned, including visitors from France, Germany, Podlaskie in Poland, Călărași County Council in Romania, Călărași municipality, Miroslava commune in Iași County, the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion, and several other communities," noted Nicolae Drăgănel, the president of Călărași district.

The "Golden Autumn" festival was held under the theme "The abundance of the earth - the pride of the nation".
