Former Agriculture Minister Vasile Bumacov elected PSDE president

Vasile Bumacov, the former Minister of Agriculture and former Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Japan and Korea, has been elected as the President of the European Social Democratic Party (PSDE). This decision was made on June 6 during the party's 12th Extraordinary Congress.
Vasile Bumacov expressed his gratitude to his colleagues for the trust they have placed in him. As the newly elected president of the party, he is dedicated to strengthening the territorial organizations, attracting new, professional, and honest individuals, and transforming the PSDE into a modern, powerful, and respected political force.
"Let today be the moment we renew our commitment to the Republic of Moldova. Let us move forward with determination, seriousness, and confidence in our abilities. Our country faces complex risks, and time is running out. Moldova needs experienced and balanced leaders who know what to do from day one of their mandate. Together, let us work toward building a unified Moldova. I promise you that we will work honestly, listening to the needs of the people so that our descendants can be proud of us," declared Vasile Bumacov.
During the event, the Vice President of the PSD in Romania, Vasile Dîncu, wished Vasile Bumacov much success in his role and expressed his belief that under Bumacov's leadership, the PSDE will achieve its goals and strengthen the partnership between the two parties.
"A party is rebuilt not in offices, but among the people. I am confident that the PSDE will reach its political objectives and return to government. Society needs social democracy, which prioritizes people and their concerns. I promise to be your ambassador in Brussels and within the European and international social democratic community, promoting the values and interests we share. I wish President Vasile Bumacov and the entire team perseverance, determination, and courage in implementing the political agenda and consistently promoting social democratic values," mentioned Vasile Dîncu.
The forum also elected two first vice-presidents of the PSDE, Ion Sula and Alexandru Cauia, along with members of the National Political Council, the National Censors Commission, and the Ethics and Arbitration Board.
At the end of the meeting, the Congress Resolution was adopted, highlighting the party's stance on the most discussed reform in society—the local public administration reform.
