Moldova opens applications for 2026 Senior Excellence Award
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has launched the 2026 edition of the National Active Ageing Award, titled "For an Active Life at Any Age."
The annual competition celebrates outstanding senior citizens who continue to make significant contributions to society.
Eligibility criteria
Moldovan citizens aged 65 and older are eligible to apply.
The ministry welcomes candidates with notable achievements in science, medicine, civic engagement, entrepreneurship, agriculture, education, sports, information technology, or culture.
Application process and deadlines
Candidates or nominating institutions must submit their application files by September 1, 2026. An evaluation committee will review all submissions and select the winners by September 23, 2026.
Application files must include candidate details, nomination credentials, a curriculum vitae, a copy of the national identity card, a recommendation letter, and proof of achievements. Submitting a short video introduction of up to one minute will serve as an added advantage.
Acceptable proof of achievement includes published works, professional diplomas, honorary titles, media coverage, photos, or records of participation in national and international events.
National recognition
The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection presents the award annually to mark the International Day of Older Persons.
Selected laureates will receive official honorary diplomas along with a state cash prize. Applications can be submitted electronically to the designated ministry email address with the competition title in the subject line.
