More than 900 teaching vacancies: Mathematics teachers most in demand

Young individuals aspiring to build a career in education can now submit their applications for the second round of the competition to fill vacant teaching positions. The Ministry of Education and Research (MEC) highlights that new teachers may receive allowances ranging from 160,000 to 375,000 lei.

The competition includes a total of 910 vacant teaching positions. Among these, 162 are located in Chisinau, seven in Balti, and the majority—741 positions—are in rural educational institutions.

This competition is open to individuals under 35 years of age who are at the beginning of their teaching careers and have graduated from pedagogical or other relevant study programs.

In addition to a single allowance, novice teachers will benefit from a teaching load reduced to 75% during their first five years of service. They will also receive an annual grant of 4,000 lei for teaching materials, along with up to 62 days of annual leave, and the support of a mentor during their initial years of work.

Moreover, these teachers will have access to opportunities for professional development and career advancement.

The districts with the highest number of vacant positions include Cimișlia (80 positions), ATU Gagauzia (71), Anenii Noi (63), Hincești (62), Cantemir (50), Orhei (49), and Nisporeni (43).

The most sought-after specialties include mathematics teacher (108 vacancies), educator (105), and teacher of Romanian language and literature (77).
