Substantive examination of the case concerning the limitation of Irina Vlah's party activities set for November 14

The substantive examination of the case regarding the limitation of the activity of the Republican Party "Moldova's Heart" will begin on November 14. By October 24, additional evidence in the file is to be presented, announced the party's lawyer, Fadei Nagacevschi, after the October 20 hearing at the Centru Court of Appeal, which was one of preparing the case for judicial debates.

"This is an abusive case, through which an attempt is made to remove a powerful political leader from the political arena of the Republic of Moldova. We are talking about Irina Vlah and the Moldova's Heart Party. They will not succeed, no matter what they do", said Fadei Nagacevschi's lawyer on Monday after the hearing.

Regarding the decision of the Central Electoral Commission on the exclusion of the candidates of the Republican Party "Moldova's Heart" from the elections on September 28, the lawyer reiterated the lack of proportionality of the applied sanction and the lack of an effective appeal, specifying that "the said abuse" is being contested according to the legal provisions in force and will reach the European Court of Human Rights in the event that the party is not given justice at the national level.

We recall that the Ministry of Justice requested, through a petition filed in court on September 19, the suspension of the activity of the "Moldova's Heart" Party for a period of 12 months, based on a notification by the Central Electoral Commission, which found irregularities regarding the financing of this party.

On September 25, the Central Court of Appeal decided to limit the party's activity during the examination of the civil case filed by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Moldova. Thus, three days before the elections, the CEC requested the Patriotic Electoral Bloc of Socialists, Communists, Heart and Future of Moldova to eliminate, within 24 hours, from the list of candidates for the position of deputy, the members of the party led by Irina Vlah.
